Been a while since I updated on this page, but am here now. Today, am gonna tell you about my thrift hacks; for clothes, shoes, bags, portable utensils etc etc. I called today's topic Thrift Thursday cause Thursday, coincidentally, is the day I tend to shop a lot. I mean, it's a day to Friday and that means 100% night out...so I have to look nice (buh not too nice, if you get what I mean). Well, here we go....
I know am a thrift addict and I buy clothes whenever I want buh for this day, it's super special. Ladies, gents too, you don't need lots of money to look nice, just the right taste and a good eye. Let me tell you of a day I went window shopping at some big mall shop and the prices there almost made my eyes pop...bro, just the price of a jeans jacket could get me four similar even more sexy looking jackets. Just the price of leather pants could get me a full attire for a night out. Why a night out? Cause I'd be looking sexy and all...we left that shop and I was disappointed in whatever I saw some of yall buy. Buh bro, if you got the money, spend it. Just between you and me, wearing mitumba is so chic, it's classy and if you've got a good eye for fashion, what you wear won't appear as obvious as you think. Am not fan of open air markets cause of their lack of changing rooms buh I'd advice you to try them once in a while. If you're in Nairobi, you can take a stroll around; Ngara-River Road, around CBD, Nyayo Stadium and City Stadium, I swear you'll find everything you're looking for, and more. One underrated shop is Think Twice, there they sell "peculiar" goods at very low prices and you have the chance to use their changing rooms just to check if the clothes or shoes fit. All those pallazos, skirts, t-shirts, polo shirts, braletes, crop tops, suits, bags, scarfs, dresses, jackets, cool shoes, you name it! I'd advice you not to shop online if you don't trust the vendors page cause there's a high chance the clothes or shoes wont fit, the vendor will ghost with your money or the purchased good won't be what you were expecting. I don't usually get why online stores call themselves thrifters yet whatever they're vending is at a high cost than expected. Thrifting means buying good at a cheaper and lower price buh what they sell is the same price I'd find a bodycon dress in a shop having. Along the alleys in town you'll find water bottles at a cheap price or a bargaining one, but, why not try House of Leather...It's an epic place, big and all. They're a couple around Nairobi and the maze they've created makes you want to spend on every little nice thing you spot there. Their cheap prices and Quickmatt offers are a plus too. I ain't going to touch on the toys part, buh if you need decors or costumes or toys, that's the place to be. I hope you enjoyed your read, and maybe you'll consider trying the places ave mentioned, they don't disappoint. Have a lovely Thursday loves.
